2013 Supreme Court Group Admission

Albany Law School is sponsoring its fourth group admission to the United States Supreme Court on Monday, April 29, 2013.

The program will include a reception on Sunday evening, prior to the admission, as well as a luncheon following the ceremony on Monday at The George Hotel located at 15 E Street, NW, Washington D.C.  If you are interested in participating in this program and have been admitted to practice in a state bar for a minimum of three years, please

Once we receive your registration, we will send you an application packet. This program is strictly limited to 50 applicants.  In order to expedite the application process, we suggest that interested applicants immediately request an original certificate of good standing from the Appellate Division where admitted. You must provide an original, which cannot be more than one year old.


Participation will be limited to the first 50 completed applications received. In the event that you have registered, but are not timely in forwarding the properly completed application, your registration fee will be refunded to you.

Program Details At-A-Glance

The Application Process

Once you complete your registration and submit your registration fee(s), you will be sent a complete list of instructions, application form, a personal history sheet, and a list of alumni who have volunteered to serve as individual sponsors.  You must have two sponsors who are admitted to the U.S. Supreme Court sign your application.

• An original certificate of good standing from the Appellate Division where you are admitted will be required with the application form.

The Hotel

The George - A Kimpton Hotel will be our headquarters for the program. A group rate of $229 has been reserved and this includes the current 14.5% state and local taxes.  There is an additional fee for parking.

We will meet in the hotel lobby at 8:00 a.m. and then walk to the Supreme Court.


Registration Fee

The registration fees cover the processing of the admission application, U.S. Supreme Court admission fee, Sunday evening's reception at the hotel and the alumni lunch immediately following the admission ceremony, and a group photograph on the steps of the Supreme Court.  The registration fees do not include hotel accommodations.

Cancellation and Refunds

The United States Supreme Court admission fee of $200 will be refunded if the completed application is not received or if written request is made prior to March 1, 2013.  Completed packets received after the first 50 will be first placed on a waiting list and then refunded if space in the program is unavailable.

Our group will gather in a conference room and meet with USSC admissions staff.

Registration and fees are due.

March 1, 2013

Completed applications for admission must be received by the Alumni Office. This is a firm date due to the strict requirements of the Unites States Supreme Court.

FEES

Registration    $350

Spouse/Guest:    $50

Registration fee includes $200 Supreme Court admission fee, Sunday evening alumni reception, lunch at the hotel following admission, a group photo, and application processing costs.
