Jeffrey M. Schanz, Ph.D.Vice President for Institutional Advancement518email@example.com
Jeffrey M. Schanz, Ph.D., joined Albany Law School as Vice President for Institutional Advancement in 2017. As part of the school’s leadership team, he oversees institutional development efforts, alumni relations, and community affairs. Schanz spent the previous 17 years at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he last served as Assistant Vice President in the Division of Institute Advancement and Executive Director of the Rensselaer Alumni Association. At Rensselaer, Schanz worked closely with university leadership, alumni volunteers, parents, students, and friends to establish long-term engagement and philanthropic relationships for the university. He also served in large comprehensive capital campaigns. He holds a B.A. in Political Science and a Master’s in Public Administration, both from Marist College, where he served as president of the Marist Alumni Association and alumni representative to the Board of Trustees. He earned an M.S., a C.A.S., and a Ph.D. in Higher Education Administration and Policy Studies from the University at Albany.

Jen manages the institutional advancement information systems and is responsible for entry, maintenance and delivery of all advancement information. She processes gifts, coordinates reports and acknowledgements, and oversees prospect management. Prior to Albany Law School, Jen worked at The Albany Academies and Albany Medical Center.

Morgan coordinates the law school's direct mail and phonathon programs. She also oversees the Student Legacy Fund and compiles reporting on all giving initiatives. Morgan works with the Alumni Office for Reunion giving programs as well as the young alumni (GOLD) programs. Prior to Albany Law School, Morgan worked for the New York State Division of Criminal Justice Services.

Peter Pedone joined the advancement team at Albany Law School in December 2017. His position as Executive Assistant to the Vice President for Institutional Advancement includes budgeting and administrative duties for the division, as well as planning and executing events and programs for high-level donors and prospects.
Peter has more than 35 years of experience in event planning and program management. The majority of that time was at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, where he began in September 1987 in a temporary position as Assistant Director of Student Activities in the Rensselaer Union. In March 1988, he became Assistant Director of Alumni Relations, within the portfolio of Institute Advancement. Peter was responsible for the Rensselaer Alumni Hall of Fame program, athletic alumni programs, and aspects of Reunion and Homecoming. Specific responsibilities included the planning and implementation of the Rensselaer Alumni Hall of Fame program, which included the nominations process, the selection process and the induction ceremony, as well as the Rensselaer Alumni Hall of Fame On the Road programs. Peter worked closely with the Athletic Department and their alumni constituents and managed several programs, including the Big Red Freakout Ice House dinner. Peter was often called upon by the President’s Office for special events and programming for VIPs, especially during major institute programs like Commencement and Honors Convocation.
Peter was awarded with the Pillar of Rensselaer Award in 2006 and with the District II Quarter Century Award from the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education (CASE) in 2014. Peter was inducted as an honorary member into Phalanx, Rensselaer’s student honor society, and served as an advisor to the organization.

Katie Suatoni is responsible for raising philanthropic support from individuals who are capable of giving major and leadership gifts, as well as assisting the Office of Institutional Advancement in growing its unrestricted annual fund.
Katie joined Albany Law School from the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace where she served as Development Associate, managing over $8 million annually in individual gifts and foundation and government grants. In her capacity, she developed and maintained relationships with key donors and contacts at foundations, embassies, and granting agencies in the U.S. and around the world.
Prior to her time at Carnegie, Katie worked at the Bipartisan Policy Center as a policy analyst in the field of housing and infrastructure. She has a B.A. from Georgetown University.

Geoffrey Seber joined Albany Law School in 2017, bringing with him nearly 18 years of experience in higher education in the field of advancement, with strong focus on Alumni Relations programming. Geoff manages Albany Law School’s alumni engagement efforts, including programs and institutional events, and leads the activities and initiatives of the National Alumni Association.
Geoff most recently was Manager of Alumni Programs in the Office of Alumni Relations at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute in Troy, N.Y. In this role Geoff led a team of professionals focused on on-campus programming and engagement, which included student-alumni initiatives, reunion and homecoming events and rebranding, career and professional services for alumni, social media engagement, and campus-based affinity programs primarily with Greek life, student organizations, and athletics. Geoff has a strong background working closely with boards and organizations, teaming with members to broaden engagement programs and services. He also has extensive experience in strategic and event planning. Geoff has been a part of two capital campaigns, playing a key role in their planning, initiatives, and implementation of launch-programming and events.
Geoff has been recognized both regionally and nationally for his professional work. He has received several honors from the Council for Advancement and Support of Education (CASE), including: CASE ASAP District 2 Advisor of the Year; multiple CASE National Awards for best overall student-alumni organization for his work with the RPI Red & White Student Organization, student philanthropy, and fundraising programs; and the 2005 CASE Rising Star Award, presented to only one person in the Northeast annually for innovative programming. Geoff was also part of the team that received a CASE District 2 Gold Award and CASE National Silver Award for standout use of social media around the RPi Day one-day giving campaign, a program that utilized YouTube for personalized thank you videos and Twitter to build overall engagement. In 2013, Geoff was named the Pillar of Rensselaer, the highest and most prestigious award presented by Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute to a member of the staff. Additionally, Geoff helped to author the chapter “Alum101: Programs for Senior Class” in
Lasting Impressions: Laying the Foundation for Engaged and Philanthropic Future Alumni (CASE 2016).
Geoff is a member of the Capital District Football Officials Association, officiating football at all levels in the Capital District.

David Jadin joined the Office of Institutional Advancement in November 2017. As Associate Director of Alumni Relations and Annual Giving, David is responsible for regional and affinity-based alumni programming and volunteer management. He also assists in hosting institutional events and provides overall support to the functions of the Office of Alumni Relations & Institutional Events.
David previously served Albany Law School as Assistant Director of Admissions and Strategic Initiatives. In that role, he reported to the law school’s National Alumni Association on all matters related to admissions, created the Alumni Ambassador training program, and assisted with the Office of Admissions’ comprehensive recruiting strategy.
Prior to joining Albany Law, David was an assistant men’s lacrosse coach, defensive coordinator, and recruiting coordinator at Mercer University in Macon, Ga. At Mercer, David coordinated the men’s lacrosse program’s first alumni weekend and aided the team in posting several all-time highs in overall GPA. He served in a similar capacity at Goucher College in Towson, Md., where he helped plan the Blue & Gold Athletics Alumni Weekend and assisted in alumni fundraising for the athletics department.
David earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Goucher College.
