    This course will focus on the twin religion clauses in the Constitution, "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion or prohibiting the free exercise thereof." The course will cover the​​ sweep on Constitutional development, from the first religion clause case in the 1840s, to the most recent cases. In addition, we will spend a short amount of time examining the various theories for interpreting the establishment and free exercise clauses.​
