Saving Face: Documentary Screening and Panel on Ending Violence Against Women

 

International law and domestic violence experts will gather for a screening of the Academy Award winning documentary “Saving Face” and the panel discussion “Where Do We Go From here? The Role of the State and International Community in Ending Violence Against Women” at Albany Law School on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at 5:00 p.m.

From the documentary's website:

“Every year in Pakistan, many people – the majority of them women – are known to be victimized by brutal acid attacks, while numerous other cases go unreported. With little or no access to reconstructive surgery, survivors are physically and emotionally scarred. Many reported assailants, often a husband or someone else known by the victim, receive minimal if any punishment from the state.”
