Albany Law School will delay opening until 11am due to the weather.
Albany Law School’s rugby squads are ready to match up against their alumni counterparts during
Alumni Weekend festivities on Saturday, Sept. 24.
The men’s team will take the field with heavy hearts after the recent passing of alumnus and beloved rugger Bryon McKim ’11, who would have been celebrating his fifth reunion. A pregame tribute, including a moment of silence, will begin at 9 a.m. The match is scheduled to start at 10 a.m. at UHA Field.
In addition to dedicating the match to McKim, the Albany Law School Rugby Football Club has been selling T-shirts to benefit his daughter’s educational trust. Over $1,200 has been raised so far.
On the women’s side, the Albany Law Misdemeanors will play their first-ever students vs. alumnae match when they kick off at 11 a.m. That contest will also be held on campus at UHA field.
The Misdemeanors, gearing up for next year’s 40th anniversary, held an introductory clinic earlier this month at Lincoln Park in Albany. Beginners to rugby were taught basic passing and tackling skills, and the rules of the game.
