Benedict '74 and Eaton '74 Honored at NYC Alumni Reception

James N. Benedict '74 received the Trustees' Gold Medal and The Honorable Richard K. Eaton '74 received the Dean's Medal at the New York City Alumni Reception and Award Presentation, held Jan. 29, 2014, in New York City.

The Trustees’ Gold Medal is the highest accolade given by Albany Law School to an outstanding individual. The award honors long standing and exceptional commitment to Albany Law School. Benedict, a member of the board, is a partner in the New York office of Milbank, Tweed, Hadley & McCloy, chairman of the firm’s Litigation & Arbitration Group and head of its Securities Litigation Practice Group. He has hired dozens of students over the years and is a generous donor to the law school.

The Dean’s Medal recognizes an individual for his or her exemplary service to the legal profession. Established by Dean Andrews, the award recognizes those who serve the profession with distinction. Judge Eaton is based in New York City and serves on the U.S. Court of International Trade. Judge Eaton also routinely hires students for clerkships, and currently has two recent graduates – Patrick A. Woods '12 and Elie Salamon '13 – working as clerks for him.

The New York City Alumni Reception and Award Presentation took place at the New York Hilton Midtown, located at 1335 Avenue of the Americas, from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. on Jan. 29.
