As a supplement to formal classroom instruction, the students will visit Chinese courts, government offices, U.S.-based law firms and corporate offices in Beijing and Shanghai. The students will meet with Albany Law School alumni practicing in China.
Albany Law School hosted 12 Chinese law students and an advisor from the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) in January. The visiting law students learned about U.S. law from Albany Law professors, and they also visited the U.S. Court of Appeals, Albany City Hall and the New York State Capitol.
Albany Law School signed an agreement with SIFT in 2010 to pursue cooperative educational programs and collaborative research initiatives for students and faculties in both countries. The law school hosted a visiting scholar from SIFT during the fall 2010 semester.
