Conference to Focus on Legal Issues Facing Non-Profits

Albany Law School's Government Law Center will hold a one-day conference titled, "Non-Profits at the Crossroads: A Summit for Board Members and Staff." The conference is scheduled for Friday, June 15, from 8:30 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the Albany College of Pharmacy.

The conference is designed for volunteer board members as well as professional staff of non-profit organizations. Speakers will discuss the legal issues surrounding non-profits. Some of the topics include:

  • The role of government in the regulation of non-profit organization.
  • The legally defined duties and responsibilities of directors and officers of non-profit organizations.
  • Lobbying versus advocacy for non-profit organizations.
