As New York stands on the cusp of reform to its ethics laws, the Government Law Center of Albany Law School will present a one-day symposium reviewing the Ethics in Government Act and the new ethics laws in New York on Friday, March 23, from 9 a.m. - 4:30 p.m. at Albany Law School.
The symposium, "20 th Anniversary of the Ethics in Government Act: Revisiting Sweeping Reforms & Redefining Public Integrity," will bring together many of the principals responsible for the development, negotiation, passage and implementation of this landmark legislation, as well as those involved in reinvigorating ethics reform at the beginning of the 21 st century.
This symposium will offer an opportunity to understand the parameters that led to cleaner government in New York and to explore the opportunities to make New York's ethics laws stronger. Current initiatives will also be discussed.
