Albany Law School will offer "Fundamental Analysis of Financial Instruments", a five-day summer course taught by Dorit Samuel, Ph.D., tenured associate professor at the Capital University School of Management, Columbus, Ohio.
The course—beneficial for both Juris Doctor students and practicing attorneys—will be scheduled for three Fridays and two Saturdays, similar to an executive M.B.A. program. "Fundamental Analysis of Financial Instruments" will address basic concepts in finance essential in understanding more complex financial models. The focus of the course is analysis of "derivative" instruments, how to use them in different economic situations, the benefits and consequences of helping clients set up contracts, and how to employ them when investing or conducting business-both locally and globally.
Dr. Samuel has taught "Fundamental Analysis of Financial Instruments" at Rutgers University School of Law and the Moritz College of Law at The Ohio State University. She holds a Ph.D. and M.A. in Finance from Fisher College of Business, The Ohio State University, and an M.B.A. in Finance from the Carlson School of Management, University of Minnesota.
