Albany Law School Associate Dean Patricia E. Salkin co-authored the new book Land Use in a Nutshell, published by Thomson-West, an addition to the Nutshell series for law students, non-lawyers and lawyers. The 410-page book, to be sold in stores nationally, covers all aspects of land use control in the United States in clear, simple language for the lay reader.

Salkin, director of Albany Law's Government Law Center, wrote the book with Pace Law School Professor John R. Nolon.

Engineers, architects, citizens, elected leaders, landowners and environmental activists will learn the rules of the land use game and its vocabulary, guidelines, flexibility, and limitations in the Nutshell. The book is considered critical for planning professionals preparing to take the American Institute of Certified Planners examination.
