Students and faculty took a moment this afternoon to celebrate Lunar New Year, as well as the Chinese Year of the Snake.

Professor Cai Jianmin, pictured with Professor Danshera Cords and student John Bohrer-Yardley '14, teaches at the Shanghai Institute of Foreign Trade (SIFT) in China and is a visiting scholar at Albany Law School for the spring semester. While visiting, he is teaching the Introduction to Chinese Law course.

The professor’s research and teaching areas are International Business Law, Arbitration, International Trade Law, Chinese Law for Foreign Students, and Law and Culture.

Albany Law has an ongoing relationship with SIFT for cooperative educational programs and collaborative research initiatives for students and faculties in both countries. Last spring, 33 Albany Law students and four faculty members toured China for 10 days, meeting with alumni in the country, visiting Chinese legal institutions, and attending seminars about Chinese and U.S. law.

In addition to the annual trip to China, Albany Law hosts study tours of SIFT students and faculty each year.
