Dean Andrews Receives Award at NEPOC Conference

President and Dean Penelope (Penny) Andrews was honored with the Haywood Burns-Shanara Gilbert Award at the North East People of Color Conference (NEPOC) at Suffolk Law School in Boston on Oct. 26, 2012.

The award is given annually at the NEPOC conference to a law professor who uses his or her scholarship and teaching to improve the lives of people of color. The nominations call for “outstanding legal scholars who have contributed to their schools, their communities and to the greater legal academy of faculty of color.” 

Past winners include Adrien Wing, Derek Bell, Randy Scott McLaughlin, Cruz Reynoso, Maria Arias, Odeana Neal, Judy Scales-Trent, Deborah Post, and Jon C. Dubin.
