Professor Paul Finkelman’s new book, Millard Fillmore (Times Books), was reviewed on the Opinion page (A19) of today’s edition of The Wall Street Journal.
Describing Professor Finkelman’s latest work as a “short, fierce book,” the reviewer writes that “Mr. Finkelman has delivered an unvarnished but compelling portrait of one of our least remembered but far from insignificant presidents.”
Professor Finkelman was also interviewed about the book on WAMC's The Roundtable on June 2, as well as on WCNY's The Capitol Pressroom radio program, which airs across New York state, on May 27.
Professor Finkelman, the President William McKinley Distinguished Professor of Law and Public Policy at Albany Law School, is the author of more than 100 scholarly articles and more than 20 books. He was named the ninth most cited legal historian by "Brian Leieter's Law School Rankings."
Professor Finkelman is an expert in areas such as American legal history, race and the law, the law of slavery, constitutional law and legal issues surrounding baseball.
