GLC Announces 2011 Anderson Legislative Seminar Series

The Government Law Center (GLC) of Albany Law School today announced topics and speakers for the 2011 Warren M. Anderson Legislative Seminar Series, which will open on Tuesday, Feb. 15, with a panel discussion on "Indian Gaming: The Issues Facing New York."

Each program features experts who address legal and policy aspects of major issues pending before the New York State Legislature. The 2011 schedule will be:

  • Feb. 15 - " Indian Gaming: The Issues Facing New York" - Bennett Liebman, Executive Director, GLC; Patrick Brown, Brown & Weinraub, PLLC; and James Featherstonhaugh, Featherstonhaugh, Wiley & Clyne, LLP
  • March 15 - " Entitlements and State Finances"
  • April 12 - " Consolidating Services"
  • May 10 - " The State Budget Process: Deciphering the Education Budget"

The seminars will be held from 8:00 a.m. to 9:00 a.m. in the Assembly Parlor on the third floor of the New York State Capitol. There is no charge to attend the program, but seating is limited. The annual breakfast series is named in honor of former Senate Majority Leader Warren M. Anderson, a distinguished alumnus of Albany Law School and an active member of the GLC Advisory Board who served in the New York State Senate for 35 years.
