Record Number Apply for Summer in Government Field Placements

A record number of law students have applied to the Summer in Government Field Placements class offered by Albany Law School, part of the Summer in Government program that starts May 24.

The program has already connected students with summer internships at the Public Service Commission, New York State Racing and Wagering Board, Public Employee Relations Board, Law Revision Commission, U.S. Trustees Office and Albany County Public Defender's Office, among others.

Albany Law offers these field placements in New York state's capital, as well as unique government law classes, as part of the school's new Summer in Government program.

Summer in Government 2010 , which will run from May 24 to July 19, is available for current Albany Law students, as well as law students enrolled in other institutions.

Available field placements include:

  • New York State Legislature
  • State and Federal Courts
  • Government Agencies
  • Nonprofit Agencies

Available classes include:

  • Access to Government
  • New York State Administrative Law
  • State & Local Finance
  • Government Ethics
  • Current Legal Issues in Government
