The Albany Law School Fund surpassed its goal of $1,050,000, reaching an all-time high and a 12.5 percent increase over last year's total, with the close of the fiscal year on June 30.

Staff giving also reached an all-time high of 80 percent participation in the Annual Fund, and 100 percent of full-time faculty contributed to the fund for the third straight year. Alumni participation matched last year's rate of 17.2 percent.

"I have said before how important this achievement is to our overall fund raising effort, and, in these economic times, it is even more so," said Thomas Guernsey, Albany Law School's president and Dean. "I would like to thank the members of our Board of Trustees, who lead by example, as well as the many alumni, faculty, staff, students and friends who supported us this year."

"Annual giving is critical to our ability to provide much needed financial aid, recruit new faculty and to respond to opportunities or unexpected challenges," said Dean Guernsey.

Student giving for the Class of 2010 also reached a record high of $30,000 and an unprecedented 55 percent student participation rate.
