Faculty, Staff, Student Giving Stays High Again Despite Economy

For another year, 100 percent of the full-time faculty made a gift to Albany Law School. Staff giving continues to be strong, and is expected to meet and surpass last year's record of 75 percent.

Student giving also continues at an impressive rate, with all three classes actively fundraising. The first-year class raised $5,000 at its kick-off event to launch a three-year program. The 2L Class celebrated the end of its second year with a picnic, adding to their total of $11,000. At Commencement the 3L Class will present its gift of flat screen monitors to be installed across campus to upgrade campus-wide communication.

Despite the good news, giving by alumni is down for schools across the country, and Albany Law School is no different, with its alumni giving down by 10 percent. With six weeks left for the fiscal year, the school is counting on its alumni community and friends to close the gap.
