Dean Thomas Guernsey will speak at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute as a member of a panel on "Preparing a New Generation of Entrepreneurs and Innovators." The panel will address the need to balance technical expertise with management strategy to effectively commercialize technology and develop a sustainable business model.

David Rosowsky, the dean of the School of Engineering at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, and David Gautschi, the dean of the Lally School of Management & Technology at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute, will also be on the panel. Together, the three deans will discuss the best ways to cultivate the next generation of entrepreneurs and innovators.

The event will take place at Rensselaer's Biotechnology Auditorium in Troy on Wednesday, Oct. 14, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. There will be a reception and entrepreneurial exhibition showcase immediately following the panel discussion. For more information, or to register to attend, click here.

The Lally School has developed a unique Technology Commercialization & Entrepreneurship graduate program that combines in-depth study in a technical area with a business/management foundation at Lally, as well as a specialized module in law applicable to tech commercialization - law of corporations, contract law and intellectual property law - at Albany Law School.
