Four Albany Law School students competed in the American Bar Association Negotiation (ABA) Regional Competition recently held at Western New England School of Law in Springfield, Mass., resulting in one of the two teams placing first and advancing to the national contest.
Damien DiGiovanni and Holly Pennington placed first out of 15 teams from New York, Connecticut, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Maine, Rhode Island, Vermont and Canada, and they will be representing Albany Law in the national ABA Negotiation Finals in Orlando early next year.
The annual competition simulates legal negotiations in which law students, acting as lawyers, negotiate a series of legal problems.
Michael Antonacci and Robert Shore comprised the second team to represent Albany Law in the regional competition. Fellow law student Megan Burke coached the teams, and Professors Nancy Maurer and Jenean Taranto served as faculty advisors.
