Albany Law School Seeks Nominations for 2010 Kate Stoneman Awards

Albany Law School's Kate Stoneman Committee is currently seeking nominations for the Kate Stoneman Awards, given annually to individuals who are committed to actively seeking change and expanding opportunities for women in the legal profession.

Award recipients will be recognized at the 16 th Annual Kate Stoneman Day celebration, to be held March 2010 at Albany Law School to coincide with Women's History Month.

The awards are presented in honor of Kate Stoneman, the first woman admitted to practice law in New York state and the first female graduate of Albany Law School in 1898. Previous winners span a variety of public and private practitioners, judges, and law professors.

Albany Law School's Kate Stoneman Committee is also hosting a series of regional events honoring women in law to coincide with Kate Stoneman's impending induction into the National Women's Hall of Fame in Seneca Falls, N.Y., on Oct. 11, 2009.
