Dick Parsons '71

Richard D. Parsons '71 was named the next chairman of Citigroup, effective Feb. 23.

Parsons, formerly president and chairman of Time Warner, stepped down from both posts last year. He was recently named to Pres. Barack Obama's economic advisory team to help address the current economic crisis.

Parsons was co-chair for Pres. George W. Bush's commission on Social Security and worked on the transition team for Michael Bloomberg when he was elected New York City's mayor.

Since graduating as valedictorian, he has stayed connected to the Law School, including visiting the campus to speak to students, accepting the Distinguished Service Award, and, most recently, attending the 2006 Reunion Weekend.
