Albany Law School will delay opening until 11am due to the weather.
First-year law students successfully launched its student-initiated Class of 2010 Legacy Fund on April 17, bringing in $10,000, totaling $20,000 when combined with the $10,000 match from President and Dean Thomas Guernsey and Professor Kathe Klare.
More than 125 students, led by class president Jeremy Cooney and a committee of classmates, gathered at the Fort Orange Club with trustees, Dean Guernsey and Professor Klare to announce the special fundraising effort and to talk about the importance of giving back.
"This is a precedent-setting effort by Albany Law School students and I hope the beginning of a new tradition of student giving," said Albany Law School President and Dean Thomas F. Guernsey. "I would like to congratulate and thank the Class of 2010 for their generosity and commitment to the success of Albany Law."
