GLC Presents Municipal Broadband Conference/CLE Program

The Government Law Center of Albany Law School will present a one-day conference about how municipalities should handle the legal and policy issues that affect the development of a broadband system. "Examining the Potential of Municipal Broadband in New York: Legal and Policy Implications" will take place Friday, December 1, 2006 from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m.

National experts on broadband issues will provide information about the choices, challenges and opportunities facing towns, villages, counties and other municipalities when choosing one of the many broadband options.

Some of the speakers include:

  • James Baller, Baller Herbst Law Group
  • Megan Levine, Dir., New York State Office for Technology
  • Robert Mayer, Dir., Office of Telecommunications, New York State Public Service Commission

  • Nicholas J. Vantzelfde, Boston WiFi Initiative
