Albany Law School will delay opening until 11am due to the weather.
Iowa Governor and Albany Law School alumnus Tom Vilsack ‘75 said he will officially launch his presidential campaign today when he files documents with the Federal Election Commission, according to an Associated Press article. The filing comes two days after his fellow Democrats scored overwhelming victories in state and national elections.
"Americans sent a clear message on Tuesday," Vilsack said in a statement obtained by the AP that will be released today. "They want leaders who share their values, understand their needs and respect their intelligence. That's what I've done as governor of Iowa and that's what I intend to do as president."
According to the article, Vilsack—the first political party member to make a formal declaration—said he will file documents with the FEC establishing the Tom Vilsack for President Committee. He plans to kickoff a multistate tour on Nov. 30 to formally announce his candidacy, visiting New Hampshire, Pennsylvania, Nevada and South Carolina, and will hold an initial fundraising gala on Dec. 2 in Des Moines.
